The post-holder will lead a programme of research within the Pneumococcal Conjugate Vaccine Impact Study (PCVIS). This is a longitudinal study, funded by Gavi, The Vaccine Alliance, to determine the long-term impact of the PCV programme in Kenya and guide vaccine policy in consultation with the Kenya National Immunisation Technical Advisory Group (KENITAG) and the National Vaccines and Immunization Program within the Ministry of Health. The post holder will be expected to contribute to the further development of the research programme (including development of their own proposals), scientific leadership, and collaborate with local, national and international partners. The ideal post holder will have experience in pneumococcal microbiology / molecular biology.

This Role will oversee of KWTRP HR management system, HR analytics and metrics in addition this position is responsible for developing, implementing, and modifying system requirements to support the Human Resources department.  Performs a variety of day-to-day administrative Human Resource Information System (HRIS) functions ensuring data integrity and the processing and reporting of HR data. The SHRO works closely with heads of departments to ensure all HR system needs are met. Attends departmental meetings to advise and follow up on HR matters related to the HRMIS

This is an entry level position for this opening. The holder will be responsible for software development of simple applications in the environment that meets Programme’s objectives in accordance to set standards.

To undertake research/ clinical trials and ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory and programme policies in performing/overseeing clinical activities and the execution of research studies.

Most of the capacity building activities at KWTRP are managed through the Initiative to Develop African Research Leaders (IDeAL) with funding from the Wellcome Trust and DFID. The aim of IDeAL is to strengthen research capacity in Africa through research training schemes ranging from attachments for school leavers and undergraduates, Postgraduate Diploma, Masters, PhD studentships and postdoctoral fellowships.

We are now seeking to appoint a postdoctoral statistician who will provide statistical training and support for IDeAL and non-IDeAL students and fellows based at KWRTP.  The post-holder will also be encouraged to develop their personal research interest, including new analyses of existing datasets and developing primary research in collaboration with other scientists in the Programme.  The post-holder will have the opportunity to apply for independent funding to support their work.

HR Business Partner assigned to the Operations Departments (HR, Finance, Information Technology and Facilities and Transport). Works closely with heads of these departments to ensure all HR needs are met. Will attend departmental meetings to advise and follow up on HR matters.

• Statutory reporting ,budgeting, managing tax matters, coordinating internal and external audits, , preparation of board reports and liaising with tax authorities on all tax issues and coordinating tax reviews
• The Financial accountant will also coordinate the accounting of Fixed Assets.
• Ensuring all accounting transactions comply with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) as well as compliance with donor and Joint Venture owner requirements.

To provide efficient and effective administrative and secretarial support to facilitate smooth running of the COO’s office and its related activities.

The main purpose of this job will be thawing malaria parasites previously frozen in liquid nitrogen, extracting DNA and then quantifying parasite and human DNA in these samples. Additionally, the job holder will be expected to assist in arranging shipment of DNA samples to the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute for whole genome sequencing.
